Zhenzhong Hu

    He received both his BE and PhD degree in the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University, China. He was a visiting researcher in Carnegie Mellon University.
    He is now the associate professor in Shenzhen International Graduate School, Tsinghua University, and also the secretary general of the BIM Specialty Committee of the China Graphics Society.
    His research interests include information technologies in civil and marine engineering, building information modeling (BIM) and digital disaster prevention and mitigation.

    The QS World University Rankings (annual world university rankings published by the educational organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)) was released in 2015, fifty-eight universities in the mainland of China selected among the top 400 in top rankings. The Civil Engineering, from Tsinghua University, ranked 7th all over the world, and it was the highest subject rankings in Asian universities.

    The meeting of commending the national model workers and advanced works, and celebrating the International Labor Day, were held in The Great Hall of the People on April 28th. Yunshan Liu announced the commendation decision and at the same time pointed out that since 2010, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Party, a large number of advanced model people who were willing to devote, courage to innovations and having noble personality and outstanding achievements, have emerged from various industries, the CPC and the State Council decided to award 904 national advanced workers. Jianguo Nie, Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering in School of Civil and hydraulic Engineering, won the honorary of "National Advanced Workers".

    It was worth celebrating the 104th anniversary of Tsinghua University and the 10th anniversary of the 2005 alumni graduation on April 26th. Dazhong Wang and Xianlin Gu, the former presidents of Tsinghua University, and several current leaders, teachers and alumni participated in the commemoration conference and respectively addressed in the Concert hall. Wish my Alma Mater will be better and my alumni have bright futures!

    The research team, together withthe Construction Supervision Company of Guangzhou Metro, reported the accomplishments of Research on BIM-based Application System to Jianlong Ding, deputy general manager and general manager of Guangzhou Metro on April 15th. Jianlong Ding pointed out that the first phase of the research on BIM application system was effective, and verified the feasibility and necessity of the BIM-based application in metro MEP project. He also expected that the related functions could be improved to realize the digital delivery of Guang-Fo Line.

    The research team and Jianping Zhang, Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering respectively selected some students and assistants to form a 12-person team for Guangzhou Metro project to jointly debug and centralized develop the first phase system of the rail transit BIM platform from March 1st to 7th. It was tirelessly completed the task in seven days.
