Zhenzhong Hu

    He received both his BE and PhD degree in the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University, China. He was a visiting researcher in Carnegie Mellon University.
    He is now the associate professor in Shenzhen International Graduate School, Tsinghua University, and also the secretary general of the BIM Specialty Committee of the China Graphics Society.
    His research interests include information technologies in civil and marine engineering, building information modeling (BIM) and digital disaster prevention and mitigation.

    Peilong Tian, the third master student under my supervision, successfully passed his thesis defense in the Department of Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University. His master degree thesis entitled "Monitoring and Management of Equipment during Maintenance Period Based on BIM and BAS". Because the management efficiency were in low levels, especially in the operation and maintenance management in the AEC industry, the research implemented storage of monitoring information in the BAS by extending the Industry Foundation Class(IFC) attribute set using the IFC-based information extension method from the information storage layer, made a research on critical technologies for integration of multi-protocol-oriented dynamic monitoring system and BIM open platform from the information integration layer, and studied the application of parking monitoring information in intelligent management of the parking lot, the application of indoor environment monitoring information in comfort evaluation, and the application of water level and quality monitoring information in intelligent O&M of water plants to expand the application scope of the BIM. The system was applied in the Beijing Huaifang Water Recycling Plant Project. In a word, the study supports a complete solutions and relevant models for intelligent monitoring and management to improve the building O&M management.

    On May 24th, on behalf of the research team, I presented the sub-projects achievements of the project "Integration Application Technologies on BIM and Iot, Big Data, mobile communication and Cloud Computing", which is a sub-project of the 13th Five-Year Key R&D Project "Research and Demonstration on Integration Application Technologies of Green and Smart Construction" to the invited experts and other technicians from China State Construction Technical Center.

    My master student, Yang Peng, has completed the capstone presentation. There are challenges of generating the analysis models, and lacking of real-time analysis methods and visual scene under dynamic circumstances in large-scale buildings. Based on the big data and BIM and machine learning, the study is going to propose a method of "dynamic evacuation machine learning" to improve the graph search directly or large-scale parallel simulation for massive arithmetic labor. The method is supposed to outcome a series of regular rules and form the ability for dynamic decision in arbitrary situations by simulating the massive evacuation circumstances and import the mechanism of evaluating situations to realize the computing-chess method based on the methods of deep learning and reinforcement learning.

    The 863 research project "Research of Digital Development Technology Based on Green Residentials within the Building Lifecycle" was reported to 7 experts, which was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, in Tsinghua University on May 12th. Professor Jianping Zhang, the director of projects reported the achievements since the project was established in 2014, and answered the question and doubt from experts. Finally, the project was approved to be finished successfully. As a member of the research team, I participated in "Research of Digital Development Technology Based on Green Residentials within the Building Lifecycle".

    The experts and other technicians from Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., LTD., gave reports and discussed on the "Research and Demonstration for Intelligence Construction and Operation and Maintenance of Key Technologies" on April 26th. The research team reported the one-year achievement of sub-projects "Operation and Maintenance Management in Regenerated Water Plants based on BIM and IoT" during the meeting.
