Zhenzhong Hu

    He received both his BE and PhD degree in the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University, China. He was a visiting researcher in Carnegie Mellon University.
    He is now the associate professor in Shenzhen International Graduate School, Tsinghua University, and also the secretary general of the BIM Specialty Committee of the China Graphics Society.
    His research interests include information technologies in civil and marine engineering, building information modeling (BIM) and digital disaster prevention and mitigation.

    Professor Miroslaw J.Skibniewski, chief editor of a renowned SCI journal Automation in Construction, and a well-known scholar in the field of information technology for construction from University of Maryland, visited the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University and gave a keynote talk entitled "Creativity in Construction Engineering: Past, presented and Future" on September 8th, 2016. Then he had in-depth discussions with my group on the topics of BIM-based Information sharing and planning platform, data mining and machine learning in operation & maintenance phrase on September 9th, 2016.

    A new paper has been published online in Advances in Engineering Software (IF=1.673 in 2015), i.e., Zhen-Zhong Hu, Jian-Ping Zhang, Fang-Qiang Yu, Pei-Long Tian, Xue-Song Xiang. Construction and facility management of large MEP projects using a multi-Scale building information model.

    The summit forum of BIM-based application for construction engineering and the transformation ceremony of BIM-based achievements by our group were hosted by CBIM Beijing Co., Ltd., in the first floor of Beijing Olympics Linglong Tower on the afternoon of July 30th, 2016. Quite a few well-known experts in the industry, including more than 500 people from various fields in engineering construction, witnessed the historical moment and shared the BIM-based typical successful application examples.

    The 16th International Conference on Computer in Civil and Building Engineering (the 16th ICCCBE) 2016, hosted by the International Society for Computing in Civil and Building Engineering (ISCCBE), was held from July 5th to 9th, 2016, in Osaka, Japan. The conference was held every two years, and it was one of the most influential international academic conferences in the CAE field. Including more than 400 people participated and nearly 400 papers were published. Yang Peng, Jiarui Lin, Tianfeng He, Yunyi Zhang, from the research team, made verbal reports at the conference. The relevant contents have been updated to the "International Conference Papers" in the "Research" section.

    Professor Kincho Law, a well-known scholar in the field of information technology for construction from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in Stanford University, visited our department at Tsinghua University. He had discussions with our group on the topics of BIM-based personnel safety level evaluation approach using machine learning methods for public buildings, towards BIM-based model integration and safety analysis for bridge construction, a topological and Hierarchical Information Integration Approach for Standard-unit-based Residential Planning, and a relativity Evaluation Approach to Unstructured Document Integration and Retrieval for Building Information Modeling.
