Zhenzhong Hu

    He received both his BE and PhD degree in the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University, China. He was a visiting researcher in Carnegie Mellon University.
    He is now the associate professor in Shenzhen International Graduate School, Tsinghua University, and also the secretary general of the BIM Specialty Committee of the China Graphics Society.
    His research interests include information technologies in civil and marine engineering, building information modeling (BIM) and digital disaster prevention and mitigation.

    On December 12th,2014, I greatly made adjustments on the methods of teaching plans, ideas and lectures based on the experiences of the School of Civil Engineering Contest in the Sixth Young Teachers Basic Teaching Skills Competition in Tsinghua University. Finally, It was my honor to win the First Prize in the polytechnic group by the 20-mins illustration about "Computing-Engineering Graphics-Engineering Projection Representation".

    Professor Zhongfu Li and Associate Professor Shaohua Jiang, from Dalian University of Technology, visited the Institute of Coastal Engineering and Structural Safety of Shenzhen Graduate School of Tsinghua University on November 21st, 2014. The research team had system demonstrations about "BIM-based Faclity Intelligent Management system (BIM-FIM)", "BIM-Based Factorial Construction Management System (BIM-FC)" and "BIM-based Integrated Rail Transit Management and Digital Handover Platform", etc. Based on these presentations, we had further discussions and jointly expected for future cooperations.

    Xueyuan Deng, Associate Professor form Shanghai Jiaotong University, was invited to give a talk about "CAD, BIM and Collaborative Research" on November 4th, 2014. First, he compared and analyzed the relationship between CAD, BIM and collaboration and pointed out three key issues that we needed to deeply understand and couldn’t neglect the objectives, cores and foundations based on BIM. Then, he presented the research works from Shanghai Jiaotong University about the collaborative building design of CAD and platform based on BIM. Finally, he summarized the current problems about researches and applications based on BIM, and prospected the developments and applications of BIM. Nearly 20 teachers and graduate students from the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Construction Management participated this lecture.

    21 delegators from the Construction & Operation Department and Construction Supervision Company of Guangzhou Metro, and the Supervision Association of Guangzhou, visited Tsinghua University with the accompany of our group on October 30th, 2014. During this symposium, Jianping Zhang, the Professor of Department of Civil Engineering and the leader of our group, presented the research accomplishments based on BIM. We had further discussions about BIM-based applications and developments in practical engineering and collaborative projects.
