The research achievement "BIM-based Information Integration and Application for Building Lifecycle", led by Professor Jianping Zhang, won the third prize of Science and Technology Progress in 2018 Beijing Science and Technology Awards ceremony on March 1st. The research team evolved the basic theories and standardized systems, established the structural systems and modeling methods, proposed the integrated management technologies, and developed platforms and software that had the complete independent intellectual property. The research achievements broke through the technical problems such as the unified description for engineering information, heterogeneous data integration, massive data mining and the multi-participant collaboration. These achievements contained 7 publishing books and industrial reports, 2 national standards, 1 invention patent and 25 software copyrights. Relevant achievements were applied to several major projects including the National Stadium in Beijing.

Our new journal article entitled "Automating closed-loop structural safety management for bridge construction through multisource data integration" has published online in Advances in Engineering Software. In this paper, an integrated framework for closed-loop management of structural safety based on multisource data integration is presented. The proposed framework consists of a bridge safety information model (BrSIM), algorithms for data integration and semi-automatic time-dependent structural model generation, and methods for structural safety warning and assessment. The proposed BrSIM and algorithms integrate data related to 3D products, schedule, structural simulation and monitoring from various engineering systems, which covers the main data for structural safety management during construction. The research results were applied to the Shiji Yellow River Bridge Project. By tracking and simulating changes in structural performance over time, and comparing differences between simulation results and monitoring data, early detection and better assessment of potential structural risks were achieved.
