Zhenzhong Hu

    He received both his BE and PhD degree in the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University, China. He was a visiting researcher in Carnegie Mellon University.
    He is now the associate professor in Shenzhen International Graduate School, Tsinghua University, and also the secretary general of the BIM Specialty Committee of the China Graphics Society.
    His research interests include information technologies in civil and marine engineering, building information modeling (BIM) and digital disaster prevention and mitigation.

    After one-month development, the wind energy search engine can be found in "Product" section. The engine was completed together with Dr. Sunwei Li, from Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University. Dr. Li gave the results of the density of coastal wind energy and wave energy, the extreme-point of wind speed and wave height, as well as the damage probability of NREL-based OC4 floating rig in offshore scope, whose depth was less than 1000 meters, by numerical simulation and on-site observation of China. It can calculate and display the relevant data for southern and eastern coast of China by the "wind energy search engine" section, which can use the database from the daily routine. Right now, we only open the function "Density Forecast" and other functions will be opened in the future.

    The official websites of China Graphics Society and Journal of Graphics have published "Introduction to highly cited and downloaded papers on BIM-based research in Journal of Graphics". The paper entitled "A Review for Researches and Applications of BIM-Based Operation and Maintenance Management" from our research team, which was published in October, 2015, cited 31 times and downloaded 2083 times in CNKI, ranked No.1 in all the suggested papers.

    As the panel of judge, I attended the doctoral dissertation defense of Dr. Tianfeng He of Tsinghua University. His PhD thesis is "Research on Key Technologies for Design of Industry Residences". Then my master student of engineering also passed his thesis defense entitled "Research on Applications of Architectural Structure Design in Medium and Small Sized Design Enterprises". Congratulations to both of them!

    The research team attended the kick-off meeting of the project "Key technologies for Database and Data integrated of Building and MEP system", which is a sub-project of "Research and Demonstration on Big Data Management Technologies for Green Buildings within the Building Lifecycle". Over 20 people from Tsinghua University, Dalian University of Technology, Shanghai Jiankun, Tsinghua Tongfang and other participating institutes attended this conference. The research team reported the implementation scheme and research progress on "Standardized Big Data Extraction Technology of Building and MEP system based on Energy Consumption Monitoring system". The research tries to establish the methods for standardized big data extraction from the energy monitoring system from cloud database.

    The progress achievement of the "Report on Application Strategies of BIM-based Technologies in Municipal Traffic Projects of Guangzhou", undertook by our research team, was appraised by experts, organized by Guangzhou Urban Transport Leading Group, on November 30th, 2017. The detail and concrete design for the next five years on BIM-based applications of urban transport projects for Guangzhou has effective achievements, which was awarded the unanimous praise by experts. They suggested that it can be approved to public to implement the plans of Guangzhou urban transport projects as soon as possible.
